Instructions for manufacturing retained samples
To meet the requirements for CE marking set out in ÖNORM EN 16025-1, factory production control must be carried out. Every system partner of Thermowhite GmbH undertakes to regularly monitor the manufactured products WD 70 R/N, WD 100 R, WD 170 R A2 and WD 130 R.
Steps
- The clean sample mould must be sprayed with silicone spray before manufacturing a retained sample (this makes it easier to remove the retained sample).
- Determine FMD: Place the sample mould on the scale and press the tare button so that the scale reads 0.00. If the scale does not have a tare function, weigh the empty sample mould and note the weight, then weigh the mould with contents and subtract the weight of the empty mould.
- Fill in the material and compact as usual (as when installing on site). Trim the material flush with the top edge of the sample mould.
- Allow the sample mould with contents to dry for two to three days. The retained sample can then be carefully removed from the mould.
- Label the retained sample with the delivery note and allow it to dry for 28 days. Record the FMD on the delivery note.
- According to the standard, the retained sample should dry at 23 °C and 50 % relative humidity. These conditions can usually only be provided in a climate chamber. The retained samples must therefore be stored in a dry room.
- Determine DMD: After the drying period, weigh the retained sample again. Record the DMD on the delivery note.
- Then archive the delivery note in the WPK folder (Z:) 07-WPK 02 or 03-Austria or International Partner-Partner-Year-Manufacturing plants.
Sample list
All data is then entered in the sample list:
- Client
- Address
- Delivery date
- Order number
- Batch number
- Machine operator
- FMD and DMD
Terms
| Term / abbreviation | Description |
|---|---|
| FMD | Fresh mortar density |
| DMD | Dry raw density |
| Retained sample | Compacted material from installed production |
| Sample mould | Wooden mould 30×30×11.1 corresponds to a volume of 9.99 L |
| Labelling | By delivery note and labels |
| Compacting | Must match the compaction factor of the recipe list |
| Trimming | After compacting, trim level with the top edge of the mould. |
| Weighing in | Weigh the entire sample mould minus the weight of the mould to determine the weight of the material |
| Drying period | The drying period is 28 days. DMD is then determined by weighing |
| Documentation | FMD and DMD must be recorded on the delivery note. |
| Release agent | Silicone spray or WD40 spray |
